The Background.

At Procore we've begun to develop the best-in-class construction project management platform. We also realize that many of our customers have applications and processes that are 'must haves' for their business to run efficiently. With the App Marketplace, we're able to extend the value of our platform by easily integrating the apps, solutions, and processes that our clients want to use. We’re committed to working with the construction industry’s most innovative technology solutions to provide even greater value and help drive the industry forward for the more than 1.4 million users who rely on Procore for their project management needs.

With the redesign of the App Marketplace, it will not only empower our partners to build and market better apps/integrations, but it will more easily connect our user's and help build out their ecosystem. Below is the design we have down the pipeline.

The Before & After

The building Empathy.

Our App Marketplace was released March of 2016 with 22 integrations to start. The goal at the time was to get as many integrations/partnerships as we could to validate that we had something here. We were scrappy and very MVP. But since then, the team hasn't gotten the opportunity to go back in and improve it. Below are some of the major hurdles:

  1. Lack of information hierarchy

  2. Unorderly information/groupings

  3. Ability to "Get App Now"

  4. Improve navigation

  5. Poor searching paradigm

  6. No user rating/feedback system

I don’t have a ton of time, and want to know what the core features of the integration are quickly. Also I want to be able to go to my boss and tell him exactly what it does with no surprises.
